Happy Hump Day Y'all...this week the following things put a smile on my face:
1)Letting the cat out of the bag - for those of you who haven't heard by now...we're having a baby and finally spread the news this week. We've known for a while now but didn't want to share our good news until the second trimester. So many people have asked "how could you keep it a secret?" and truth be told it wasn't that difficult because I didn't even feel pregnant. It wasn't until our first sonogram two weeks ago that it got difficult because after seeing the baby it was hard to contain our excitement. So, now the word is out...and hopefully putting a smile on every one's face! We're having a baby, I'm 14 weeks, due January 22, 2011 and feeling fabulous!
2)New furniture for the baby's room...ordered Friday two weeks ago and starting to be delivered! We ordered a twin bed, trundle, dresser, changing table topper, crib and nightstand from Pottery Barn Kids. The bed and trundle have already arrived and Brandon put them together last Friday. The other items are all back ordered which was why we ordered so early...and because I'm a planner.

3)Girls Night Out tonight to celebrate Campo's birthday!! We are celebrating with sushi at Ichiban which is one of my all time favorite places to eat. Granted I'll have to make some adjustments to my menu selections but sushi and girl talk always puts a smile on my face!
Happy Hump Day...hope you find what makes you smile this week!
Happy Hump Day everyone...hope your week is going well. This week the following things put a smile on our faces:
1) Gecko in the shower - this put a smile on Brandon's face but not mine, not mine at all! On Friday, I'm minding my own business, getting in the shower and just when I get wet enough to make a mess, I realize there is a gecko in the shower with me...and screamed bloody murder. You would have thought a axe murderer was in the shower with me and not just a little gecko. I ran out of the bathroom like white lightening and found Brandon on the couch...he hadn't heard a thing thanks to the a/c, washer, dryer and TV. He got up and rescued me from the gecko with a grin and a giggle. Needless to say, I didn't find it entertaining at all!
2) Weekend in New Orleans - we went to New Orleans for Patrick and Julie's wedding and really enjoyed ourselves. We hung out at the Higgs apt in Jackson square on Saturday, has burgers at Port of Call and just had a great time despite the sweltering heat. We were also honored to be asked to be baby Manny's god-parents at lunch on Saturday which was such a sweet surprise and put a big smile on all of our faces.
View from the balcony...love the people watching opportunities!
3) Girls night tonight! - so looking forward to girls night tonight at Meredith's new house. We are also celebrating Rebecca's birthday and is always guaranteed to be a good time.
Happy Hump Day...may you find what puts a smile on your face this week!
Imagine my surprise when I received a couple of texts/questions about my lack of posting last week...who knew you were really expecting it?!?! Last week at work was crazy busy, exhausting everyday and when I came home from work, was too worn out to even turn on the computer, as a matter of face last "hump day" I feel asleep on the couch at 7:30pm and went to bed at 8:30pm...I was just that tired. So, in light of that information, here is a double feature edition of happy hump day:
Last week the following things put a smile on my face:
1) Fourth of July in Grand Isle: We spent the fourth of July weekend in Grand Isle with Brandon's dad and the Higginbothams. It has become a tradition, for at least the past 3-4 years we've gone down for the fourth. This year was a little different thanks to the BP disaster but we still managed to have a good time. Usually our time is spent out on the boat, on the beach, at Bridgeside watching the fireworks show, cooking shrimp, crabs, etc. This year we hung out at the camp the whole weekend, grilled steaks, pork chops and hot dogs...we still had a good time even tough it wasn't quite the same.
2) Millie and Manny: The weekend in Grand Isle was Millie's first time to meet Manny and she was so funny with him. She basically wanted to be everywhere he was. I was holding him, she wanted to be in my lap too. Beau was rocking him, she climbed right up into the rocker with them. Carrie Madge was feeding him, she put her front feet up on the arm of the chair and licked him on the top of the head. He was laying on the floor, she was right there with him...it was too cute. Here are a few pics of the two of them.
3)Coco Lopez: Not sure if you've ever used this before but had my first experience with Coco Lopez and let me tell you, it is some good stuff!!! I used it in my Frozen Concoction Maker to make a killer pina colada in Grand Isle, it was a great discovery.
This week the following things put a smile on my face:
1) Dinner with the Abadies: On Friday night we met Donnie, Chelli, Rachel and Regan at Brewbachers for dinner and had a good time catching up. It's always a good time chatting with nine year old twins and seeing what's new in their lives.
2)Toy Story 3: on Saturday I took my sister and my two nieces to see Toy Story 3. Madalynn had already seen it and cracked me up how she kept saying "I love this part", Olivia watched most of the movie without her 3D glasses on which made me laugh because it just looks blurry without the 3D glasses but didn't seem to bother her at all. Other then their antics, the movie was also quite entertaining, I think I enjoyed it more than they did.
3) This commercial...we were talking about it at work this week and every time I see it I just laugh out loud. One of the nurses at work makes fun of my because she says it sounds like me and walks about saying "I'm a pothole".
Happy Hump Day y'all, may you find what makes you smile this week!
